Town Hall Meetings

At a series of town hall meetings, the Water Council presented draft policy recommendations for water quantity management in July of 2006, draft policy recommendations on water quality in January 2007 and draft policy recommendations on integrated polices for water quantity and water quality in May 2007.  These meetings were held in various locations throughout the state that included Albany, Atlanta, Cumming, Columbus, Athens, Rome, Macon, Gainesville, Tifton, Savannah, Marietta, Waycross, Statesboro, Augusta and Brunswick.  Each meeting provided an opportunity for the public to offer comments on the recommendations, in addition to establishing a public input comment period.

Georgia Public Broadcasting provided tapings of the Marietta town hall meeting and the Athens town hall meeting held in January 2007, and the Athens town hall meeting (part 1 and part 2) held in May 2007. Copies of documents presented at these meetings can be accessed below.
